How Swipey Duel rounds work

A duel is five short rounds on one clock. This page walks through what happens in each phase, why the bars reset, and how the round results add up to a winner and a top supporter.

Swipey Duel rounds last about a minute each. From 0:00 to 0:40 viewers gift hearts and both girls' bars climb. From 0:40 to 0:45 gifting locks and the leader is fixed. From 0:45 to 1:00 the girl with more hearts performs. Bars reset to zero each round. The duel winner takes the most of five rounds; the top supporter gifted the most to her across all five.

The clock in Swipey Duel rounds

  • 0:00–0:40giftBoth bars climb as viewers gift hearts to their girl. This is the only window in which the round can change.
  • 0:40–0:45lockGifting closes and the leader is fixed. Five seconds is enough to see the result land without a late gift flipping it after the fact.
  • 0:45–1:00performThe leader performs the round's action while the room watches. The next question appears as the clock resets.

Forty seconds sounds short, and it is meant to. A gifting window that long keeps the room moving, gives a late crowd a real chance to swing a round, and means a full battle fits in about five minutes. You can watch one on a break and see the ending.

What the round question is

Every round poses a question about what the girls should do next. You answer it by gifting hearts to the girl you want to see perform; the girl with more hearts at the lock performs her clip for the rest of the minute. The questions escalate from round one to round five, so the stakes rise as the battle goes on and the final round tends to draw the most hearts. Since 1 September 2026 this has been the only mechanic; there is no free tap that counts alongside gifts.

Why the bars reset

Every round starts from zero. That is a deliberate choice. If bars carried over, a big first-round lead would decide the battle and the room would empty. Resetting means a girl who lost rounds one and two can still take three, four and five, and a viewer who arrives late still matters.

Two things do carry across rounds. Your personal progress bar for Swipey Duel album rewards keeps climbing however the rounds go, and every heart you gift to a girl counts toward your standing as her supporter.

Most rounds of five wins the duel, and because five is odd there is always a winner. The top supporter is measured across the whole battle, all five rounds together, so a viewer who gifts steadily to the same girl can outrank someone who dropped one large gift in round five. That viewer goes into the private live with the winning girl. A tie inside a single round is resolved automatically, so a round always has a leader when the lock closes.

What you see on screen

The layout is built for a phone held upright. Both girls share the stage, with a bar under each and the round timer between them. Gifts appear with a hearts icon next to the price, so you know what a gift costs before you send it. Room chat runs beneath the stage; the girls reply through AI and gifters are answered first when the room is busy. During a live duel you will also find the slot spin, another way to send a gift: each spin lands a random gift from the duel catalogue in the pot of the girl you back, and it counts toward her round like any other gift. A desktop layout is in development; today a laptop shows the same phone-shaped stage.

Timing your gifts

There is no wrong moment to gift, but there are better ones. Gifting early in the window pulls other viewers to your side. Gifting in the last ten seconds before the lock is harder for the other side to answer. Spreading hearts across rounds builds your supporter standing and your album bar at the same time, which is why regulars rarely save everything for round five.

Where the hearts come from is covered in Swipey Duel gifting explained. You can build a stock of them before the battle through daily and permanent quests, the 7-day streak and the daily spin on swipey.ai/quests; Premium members also receive hearts automatically every day.

After round five

When the fifth performance ends, the battle is settled in one pass. The girl with the most rounds is announced as the duel winner. The system then adds up every heart gifted to her across all five rounds and names the viewer with the highest total her top supporter, who is taken into the private live. The rest of the room keeps whatever album collections their personal bars unlocked during the battle, and those stay saved to the account.

A new battle follows, and you can rate the one that just ended out of five hearts. Since 24 September 2026 several rooms run at once and the cast rotates, so you can stay for the next pairing or go back to the room list and join another battle at its live moment; how Swipey Duel Rooms work covers the choice. If you arrived as a guest, the one-battle allowance ends here, whichever room you watched it in, and a sign-up prompt appears; an email address, a Google login or a magic link gets you an account and free hearts to gift with in the next round. Frequently asked questions

How long is a Swipey Duel?

About five minutes. A duel is five rounds of roughly one minute each: 40 seconds of gifting, a five-second lock and 15 seconds in which the leader performs. There is no half-time and no overtime; after round five the winner is announced and her top supporter goes into the private live.

How is the round winner decided?

By hearts. During the 40-second gifting phase both girls' bars climb as viewers gift; when the lock closes, the girl with more hearts wins the round and performs. Bars reset to zero for the next round, so every round is a fresh contest and a late crowd can still swing it.
