What changes when a live AI companion has a crowd
- Other people are in the room. Gifting is visible, the bars are public, and a big gift in the last seconds changes how the whole room behaves.
- A clock replaces an open-ended chat. A duel is five minutes with a beginning, five decisions and an end. You can watch one on a break.
- Outcomes cost something. Gifting in hearts decides every round, which ties what happens on stage to real support.
- Conversation becomes group conversation. Room chat is public; the girls reply through AI to context and mentions, and gifters are answered first.
Each of those is a departure from how the category has worked. A one-to-one companion is private by definition, and Swipey's own chat keeps every conversation encrypted in transit and at rest, off any public feed. Duels does not replace that. It adds a second mode, a shared room, on one account, with one hearts balance and one rule about AI characters being disclosed as AI.
What Swipey Duels borrows
| Borrowed from | The mechanic | How Duels uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Live-stream gifting | Tiered gifts, thank-yous, supporter rankings | Six gift tiers in hearts, a voiced thank-you only the gifter hears, the top-supporter race |
| Game shows | Rounds, a lock, a reveal | 40 seconds of gifting, a five-second lock, then the leader performs; best of five |
| Collectible games | Progress bars and tiered unlocks | A personal per-girl bar and five album collections saved to your account |
| Swipey's own chat | Relationship levels and reward drops | The same sense of progression compressed into a five-minute format |
The difference from a human live stream is the cast. The duellists are AI characters created for Duels, so a battle can run at any hour, the girls can reply to dozens of chat messages at once, and the performance in each round is generated for the moment. Swipey pays for all of it in hearts, the same currency that buys image and video generations, Fanclub content and voice-call minutes elsewhere on the platform.
Why live formats are arriving now
Three things had to line up. Character-consistent generation, which Swipey uses to keep the same face and body from chat to image to video, makes an AI girl recognisable across many short performances. Real-time voice makes a personal thank-you possible without a human on the other end. And a hearts economy that already existed for quests, streaks, gifts and tips gave Duels a currency on day one instead of a new wallet to explain.
Swipey already had those pieces in place: voice calls with a post-call Memory card, on-demand video up to 60 seconds, ten relationship levels with reward drops, and the quest loop with its 7-day streak and daily spin. Group Chat with two or three characters shipped on 27 August 2026, two weeks after Duels. Duels is the format that puts a crowd in front of all of it.
One companion, several rooms
Duels is the loudest of the shared formats on Swipey, but it is one of several ways the product has moved past a single private chat. Each solves a different problem, and a viewer who likes the arena usually ends up using two or three of them.
| Format | Who is in it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| One-to-one chat | You and one character | Long-term memory, voice calls, images, video, relationship levels; private by default |
| Group Chat | You and two or three characters, including your own Custom AI | Scenes with more than one voice in the room; shipped 27 August 2026 |
| Feed and Short Drama | You, browsing creators and Platform Models | Discovery: a TikTok-style feed and episodic short videos on creator profiles |
| Swipey Live Fantasy Duels | A crowd and two AI girls | A five-minute spectator game with gifting, room chat and a private live |
The account, the hearts and the rules on disclosure are the same across all four. That is what it means for a live format to arrive inside an existing companion product, with no separate app: nothing you earn or build in one room is wasted in another.
Where the format stops today
Duels are mobile-first; on a desktop you see the same stage in a phone-shaped frame, and a wide layout is in development. Since 24 September 2026 several rooms run at once, each with its own battle and timer, and a room list at swipey.ai/duel lets you pick one; every room still puts two girls on stage, and single-girl rooms are only at the draft stage. The cast rotates, so a girl you backed last week may not be on stage this week. And this is adult entertainment: 18+, with full age verification for UK visitors, and every duellist disclosed as AI. Swipey Duels updates lists what shipped in September and what is still being built.
If you would rather see the format than read about it, guests can watch one full battle free, and what Swipey Duels are covers the rules in a few minutes of reading. To build a companion of your own outside the arena, create your AI girlfriend on swipey.ai.
Frequently asked questions
Is Swipey Duels the first live AI girlfriend game?
It is the first spectator-style live game we know of in the AI companion category. Swipey Live Fantasy Duels launched on 14 August 2026, and gifting became the sole round decider on 1 September 2026. We have not found another companion app that puts a crowd in one room with AI characters competing in timed rounds.
